RESEARCH BEHIND THE INGREDIENTS
Every NOVA3LABS® product is formulated with the intent of bringing truth and transparency to the supplement industry. That is why each of our products feature a label that fully transparent and discloses every ingredient. No proprietary blends = full disclosure.
A potent adaptogen that has been the focus of much research. Rhodiola provides a buffer to stress-related mental and physical fatigue. Rhodiola contains a glycoside known as salisdroside. This component helps combat anxiety and aging, and has been investigated for use in high-altitude sickness, as it modulates EPO gene expression. Rhodiola suppresses the production of cortisol and increases levels of stress-resistant proteins. Studies have found that it restores normal patterns of eating and sleeping after stress, & combats mental and physical fatigue by affecting RPE (perception to STRESS). Hepatic metabolism
Commonly known as Siberian Ginseng or in Chinese medicine Ci Wu Ju. Although it is not related to true ginseng (Panax ginseng), the name Siberian ginseng became popular based on potential properties similar to Panax ginseng. This adaptogenic herb has both properties of increasing work capacity and immunity. Increased work capacity is thought to be due to increased oxygen efficiency through FFA use. Immunomodulating polysaccharides or saponins isolated from Siberian ginseng stimulate macrophages, promoted antibody formation, activated complement, and increased T lymphocyte proliferation.
A fungi of the mushroom family, with a long history of use in alternative medicine. It is classified as entomopathogenic, because it lives off insects. It is known as the “caterpillar fungus” because it invades and eventually replaces the caterpillar tissue. It has very active biological components in the form of polysaccharides and constitutes like cordycepic acid, which have shown to alter lactate threshold and mitochondrial ATP generation
Alpha-glycerophosphocholine is a form of choline that is highly bioavailable, and is classified as a cholingeric. Cholinergics are compounds that, after consumption, increase levels of acetylcholine in the brain. Increased acetylcholine can lead to improvements in muscle power and contraction, as well as possibly increased reflexes and capacity to learn.
BCAAs are composed of leucine, isoleucine, and valine, and are considered essential in that they must be obtained from diet. Supplementation causes increased protein synthesis, reduced Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) by preventing an influx of serotonin, and causes glycogen sparing during training, and increased glucose uptake after training.
Acetyl L-carnitine is an acetylated form of carnitine, which is broken down and used in the process of transporting fatty acids to the mitochondria for use as fuel. It also has a secondary, dose-dependent ability to increase lactate clearance.
Caffeine is the most commonly used and studied over-the-counter stimulant. It works by antagonizing the adenosine receptors, there by causing increased alertness and wakefulness. This inhibition can also influence the dopamine, serotonin, acetylcholine, and adrenaline systems, thereby reducing RPE (rate of perceived exertion). While dosing ranges in studies showing an ergogenic effect can range up to 6mg/kg, many individual variances exits, lending itself to justifying a lower dose per serving in Max Perform.
An organic compound that is found throughout animal tissue, it is often confused as being an amino acid, which it is not. Studies have shown benefits when combined w/ BCAAS to alter DOMS, and in isolation has anti-oxidant like effects without blunting exercise-induced oxidative adaptations.
