Here are a couple points: Our bodies do not produce branch chain amino acids, meaning the only way we can get these is through our diets. Okay I know you asking yourself this now, well if we don’t produce them do we really need them? Short answer YES! They cause protein synthesis… What is that? Protein synthesis does everything from helping to build structures to supporting your immune system. On top of that they also promote glycogen sparing to occur during training… Again English please? Glycogen sparing is the use of non-carbohydrates as a source of energy during exercise so that the depletion of muscle glycogen stores is delayed. (Allowing you to train longer!) Essential Amino Acids
So BCAAs do a lot… Why are essential amino acids important? Same as BCAAs, EAAs cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained through diet. The difference between BCAAs and EAAs is that BCAAs have a chain branching off to one side of its molecular structure. EAAs do a lot of the same thing promoting protein synthesis. Here is some facts about each of the EAAs included in Max Perform. Phenylalanine: Phenylalanine is a precursor for the neurotransmitters tyrosine, dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine. It plays an integral role in the structure and function of proteins and enzymes and the production of other amino acids Lysine: Plays major roles in protein synthesis, hormone and enzyme production and the absorption of calcium. It’s also important for energy production, immune function and the production of collagen and elastin. Tyrosine: It can improve cognitive function during exposure stress! L-Aspartic Acid: Helps aide in immune function!

BCAAs are composed of leucine, isoleucine, and valine, and are considered essential in that they must be obtained from diet. Supplementation causes increased protein synthesis, reduced Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) by preventing an influx of serotonin, and causes glycogen sparing during training, and increased glucose uptake after training.
Acetyl L-carnitine is an acetylated form of carnitine, which is broken down and used in the process of transporting fatty acids to the mitochondria for use as fuel. It also has a secondary, dose-dependent ability to increase lactate clearance.
Caffeine is the most commonly used and studied over-the-counter stimulant. It works by antagonizing the adenosine receptors, there by causing increased alertness and wakefulness. This inhibition can also influence the dopamine, serotonin, acetylcholine, and adrenaline systems, thereby reducing RPE (rate of perceived exertion). While dosing ranges in studies showing an ergogenic effect can range up to 6mg/kg, many individual variances exits, lending itself to justifying a lower dose per serving in Max Perform.
